This is an authentic WWII-era German SA (Sturmabteilung) dagger, produced by the prestigious Carl Eickhorn company of Solingen in 1939. These daggers were issued to members of the SA, also known as the “Brownshirts,” as a ceremonial and symbolic weapon, representing their loyalty and dedication to Nazi Germany. Rich in historical significance, this piece is a valuable addition for militaria collectors, historians, and WWII enthusiasts. The RZM (Reichszeugmeisterei) marking confirms that this dagger was produced under strict Nazi oversight, adhering to standardized quality requirements imposed from 1935 onward. The blade remains in excellent condition, displaying a bright, polished surface with only light signs of age and handling. The central feature is the sharply etched motto “Alles für Deutschland” (“All for Germany”), rendered in bold, legible Gothic script. The etching retains its depth and clarity, a hallmark of Eickhorn’s superior craftsmanship. The reverse of the blade is stamped with the RZM code “M7/66” and the year “1939”, definitively identifying the manufacturer and production date. The Carl Eickhorn logo, featuring the iconic squirrel emblem, is also prominently displayed, adding to the blade’s authenticity and historical appeal.
The nickel-plated crossguard and pommel are structurally sound but do show considerable oxidation and wear on the bottom side, with much of the plating worn away to expose the base metal beneath.
